I am a recent graduate from Cleveland State University where I completed a clinical placement at University Hospitals IP Acute Care while also completing a thesis in cognitive deficits and the increased dependency on advanced technology.
I worked at University Hospital for inpatient acute care to identify dysphagia in patients with head and neck cancer, TBI, stroke, Gi complications, and mental disorders. I am familiar with pharyngeal strengthening exercises such as CTAR, Masako, Mendelsohn, and effortful swallows. I am also familiar with conducting clinical bedside swallow evaluations and MBSS as well as educating on diet modifications.
Some relevant coursework include Phonological and Articulation Disorders, Advanced Language Disorders, Behavioral Neurology for Communication Disorders, Voice and Resonance Disorders, Fluency Disorders, Augmentative Communication, and Motor Speech Disorders.
