Avnish Dahya

I am currently obtaining a B.A. in Interior Design. I have a passion for crafting spaces centered around the human experience. Growing up as the youngest brother to three older sisters made me an innately keen observer of how people interact, communicate, and navigate their environments. I bring that same careful observation into my professional work, believing that deep empathy and problem-solving are just as critical to good design as aesthetics.

Design & Construction Associate at DKN Hotels (2022-01 – 2023-12)

• Inspected under-utilized hotel spaces and proposed redesigns to improve functionality and guest use
• Conceptualized space plans and furniture plans for over 5 hotels across Southern California
• Reviewed architectural drawings for building code compliance and design accuracy, annotating revisions for the construction team
• Managed end-to-end design of a hotel bridal suite, from space planning and finish selections to product procurement and final installation.

• Presented a SWOT analysis of hotel and improvement recommendations to HQ leadership
• Collaborated with branch managers across advertising, finance, operations, and design functions
• Contributed to advertising strategies that increased occupancy across 9 hotels
• Developed cross-functional hotel operations experience across housekeeping, front desk, maintenance, dining, and sales at the Homewood Suites in Irvine
