I have recently early retired from federal service and currently looking to begin a new career as a bookkeeper. I enjoy cooking, blending herbs for flavor-filled tea, fiction and non-fiction. I volunteer through various organizations including Medical Reserve Corps and AARP Tax Consulting for the Elderly.
I worked as a financial investigator for over 20 years. In this position, I routinely worked with QuickBooks and Peachtree programs to obtain labor organizations’ book records to perform bank and credit reconciliations; reviewed and performed financial trend analysis of financial statements; verified the veracity of receivables and payables; followed with third parties when needed. I proficiently used Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams to analyze data, research and resolve discrepancies, report findings, and host workshops to explain reporting and recordkeeping requirements.
In 2025, I joined the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers and successfully completed all coursework for certification after working 3,000 hours as a bookkeeper and obtained Intuit certifications as a bookkeeper and proficient using QuickBooks Online. This is in addition to having an undergraduate and graduate degrees in Business.
