Theoretical mathematician trained as a data scientist over the past 5 years. Outside of work I'm petting dogs, building models, playing magic the gathering, reading, or exercising.
National Security Agency (NSA) November 2018 - Present - Mathematician/Data Scientist Graduate of the Cryptologic Mathematician Program (CMP). The CMP is a four-year development program for mathematicians. It is intended to accelerate the development of newly-hired mathematicians to advance the NSA’s ability to deliver cryptanalytic and signals-analytic results, develop a robust professional network, and gain an understanding of the full spectrum of mathematics that enable breakthroughs across NSA.
Mastered topic modeling techniques LDA and NMF and applied advanced mathematical knowledge towards teaching best use practices with them throughout NSA research organizations. Wrote white paper documenting results for oncoming data scientists. Mastered deep learning techniques such as Neural Networks, CNNs, RNNs, and Random Forests for a variety of classification problems towards massive dynamic datasets.
Used statistical analysis and time-series applications to find meaningful patterns in data. Volunteered in organizing monthly Math Development Program (MDP) lunches to promote offices with open tours and create networking platforms between MDPers and important agency figureheads. Mentored oncoming MDPers in how to code, best coding practices, and fundamental design behind topic modeling and deep learning techniques.
