Audio engineer, producer, and proprietor of Fringe Complex

Audio engineer, producer, and proprietor of Fringe Complex — a commercial recording studio in San Antonio, Texas, built around a restored 1970s Cadac E-Type analog console. Fifteen years of work has produced a single, coherent practice. As front-of-house engineer for Gary Clark Jr., mixed seven years of arena tours and major festivals — rooms with twenty thousand listeners and no opportunity for a second take.
As coproducer on his Warner Bros. records, helped shape the studio voice that made those tours possible. As founder of Fringe Complex, now operates the production environment that allows other artists to access that same standard. The technical decisions that determine whether a record sounds inevitable are the same decisions that determine whether a live mix lands — and increasingly, whether a city can retain its musical talent.

Commercial recording studio anchored by a restored 1970s Cadac E-Type analog console. One of a small number still operating in North America. The console integrates a Neve 5060 Centerpiece, multiple DAW environments, Dangerous and Mytek conversion, an Antelope Goliath, and an Isochrone Trinity master clock referenced to a 10M Rubidium standard. Records made through this infrastructure sound demonstrably different — larger, more dimensional, more committed — than records made on a laptop in a bedroom.
Complex closes the gap between San Antonio's talent and the rooms that talent deserves.
