Private practice - Boyer Speechpath Llc/Accented Spot Llc - Lawton, Medicine Park and vicinity, OK
(2022-05 - 2025-12)
My clients were mostly pediatric patients and a few adults. I visited their homes/facility. Most notable experiences in this period includes the mechanics of independent practice, as well as witnessing holistic view of patients' lives.
I experienced first-hand the barriers to accessing care; financial front encompassing insurance coverages, transportation issues, etc.. In my attempts to overcome some of the difficulties I have interacted with Oklahoma's educational system at state level and medical groups as well as other public organizations. Despite all available public assistance I realized that only a small fraction of the population needing services actually access care.
Untapped potentials in family-implemented care weighed heavy on my mind. I also had an opportunity to supervise a CF in 2024-2025.

1999-2000 school year was my Clinical Fellowship (CF) year. While managing an over-the-limit and mostly African-American caseload like all my colleagues in the vicinity, my horizon expanded much in greater cultural diversity than my prior years. Some life-long friendships with some of my colleagues and my CF supervisor, political conflicts within special education arena left a lasting impact.
