Case Manager - National Urban League - Racine, WI

Proposal writing for a federal funded program entitled Special Help. The program offered assistance to young adults between the ages of 17 thru 21. I administered diagnostic testing on clients to determine their reading and math levels.
The program included high school dropouts, single mothers and students referred through the court system. We placed clients in various programs that they had interest in, we provided bus tokens, uniforms, tools and child care for all clients to help make their participation in the program very successful. The program required participants to enter and achieve their Ged, they had to attend all classes or they were placed on probation in the program.
We placed clients in on the job training and apprentice programs where we paid half of their salaries. I made home visits if they were absent from work or the Ged program. We held classes every Friday to have discussion about the progress or problems that clients were having.
I would make random visit to job sites just to check with employees as to how each client's work ethics and relationships with employees. I would report to the court as to the advancement and progress of court appointed participants.
