Radiological Control / Health Physics Technician | Hanford Site Security Lead

For ten months I worked security on the Hanford Site at the Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant, the Vit Plant, and I was the Security Lead there for the last six. The work was badge and identification checks, patrol on foot and by vehicle, and writing up incidents and hazards as they came. In September 2026 I completed Atomic Technical Institute's Radiological Control / Health Physics Technician CORE program.
The coursework runs through radiation detection and measurement, radiological area and dose-rate surveys, contamination control, air sampling, dosimetry, ALARA, and radiological work permits, with the regulatory side built on 10 CFR 835 and the DOE Radiological Control Manual. ATI's program is certified by the DOE National Training Center, so the core training carries NTC reciprocity across DOE sites. Before security I sold cars for eight years across three Tri-Cities dealerships, and I did HVAC installation work off and on for about two years.
I hold EPA 608 Universal certification and an HVAC certificate from Charter College, along with OSHA 10 and First Aid and CPR. I am targeting Radiological Control Technician and Health Physics Technician roles at Hanford.
