I have recently graduated from the University of Florida and am looking for more experience in the real world, to gain more knowledge and to learn at a fast pace. I am currently employed as a server at Spurriers Gridiron Grille, a well-known restaurant in Gainesville. I would like to expand my skills outside of the food industry because I know I have more to offer.
Although I have no experience working in a law office, legal matters have always interested me. I am a very quick learner and am extremely hard working as well. The only jobs I have had were in the food industry but it has taught me to work with a team, to work well under pressure and to have good communication skills.
As a server at a nice restaurant, you have to be able to engage in conversation, to read people and the table and to accommodate customers. I don't just take peoples food orders but I make sure they have an incredible experience and as a server, you have to be able to sell food and liquor to make more money for the restaurant and you, whether that be a expensive bottle of wine or entree.
Grille is owned by Steve Spurrier, one of the best coaches and players in history so the standards are extremely high. I have been working at this restaurant for about two years coming up this August. I worked my way up from a hostess and assistant server to server position.
I never give up on anything I want and will always reach for the top and success. I have found a family in this workplace and the team I work with is incredible. I may not have any experience when it comes to legal matters and I know as a server, I may be very under-qualified but I will put in the work and I adapt to any environment I am in.
