Hello!
My name is Caitlin Heise.
I am currently a 6th-7th grade math teacher. I live with my husband and our puppy, Scout. I have my daughter expecting to make her arrival this spring!
In my free time I like performing in local theater productions and cross stitching.
At this time I am a 6th-7th math teacher and am in my second year of teaching. I worked on teaching the kids state standard approved math lesson. I frequently communicated using mostly Class Dojo to parents regarding children's behaviors and grades and what the assignments were for the day. I helped organize events such as 8th grade commencement and Student Council Induction Ceremony.
Before I was officially a teacher I got time to prepare myself as a Teache Aide at the YMCA daycare. I was able to get my first experience of managing a classroom, keeping an eye on 30+ kids at the same time, following standards regarding food distribution etc.
Before I graduated from college I worked 7 years at the University of Toledo scholarship office as a student worker. I also have experience working at places like Chick-fil-a where I developed customer service skills for front of house and drive thru. I worked catering and had to pay attention to details and timing of food.
Fun fact: I used to do princess parties for children so this helped me develop presentation skills, thinking on my feet to answer hard questions, researching the details of to present the characters, and my interaction with all.
I was homeschooled most of my life till the 10th grade where I started to go to Emmanuel Christian School and would graduate from at third in my class.
I went to the University of Toledo following graduation immediately where I would graduate magna cum laude with honors. I earned my degree in middle education with a concentration math and social studies.
In fall of 2019 I went to the University of Glasgow, in Glasgow, Scotland for a semester. (Talk about good timing!).
