I am currently a college student at WWU. I have experience moving in fast pace high stress environments. Being an employee at Sonic Drive in for over two years, and a manager for 18 months, I learned some very valuable skills. Managing up to 14 employees at a time in peak rush hours, I know how to keep my cool and hold the store down, all while maintaining good customer service. I thrive in those fast pace scenarios, it is one of my favorite times to work and show my skill.
My professional experience is shown mostly in my time of employment at Sonic Drive In. I worked there for two years, and for 18 months I was a shift manager. I learned many valuable skills, amongst them was learning how to manage up to 14 employees at a time for extended amounts of time.
A skill one must master to be a manager, is customer service. People must feel like they are welcome in your store, a place with no judgement or fear of being rejected. Problem solving also comes with a smoothly run store.
To get through a day without a single problem arising is simply not possible. I have learned how to be swift and stable in my decision making.
My most relevant education so far has been my success in High School. I decided to participate in a program called “Running Start”. This program allowed me to take college level course at the local community college. After completing my junior and senior years of high school, I not only graduated with a HS diploma, but also with my AA degree in journalism. This is an accomplishment that I am very proud of. It was hard work, but well paid off.
