Currently, I am a founder and Chief Production Officer at Session Goods, a freelance industrial designer, and an adjunct professor at the California College of the Arts. I was most recently a senior industrial designer at Razer and IDEO.
I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Industrial Design from the California College of the Arts.
Although grounded in industrial design, I now work in many different fields, including project management, design research, interaction design, graphic design, and systems design, with work spanning commercial retail, automation, transportation, humanitarian aid, technology, healthcare, and more.
I’m eager to not only create objects, but research, learn, and understand problems in the world that can be solved through design. I’m driven by the human experience and story, which constantly influences my design perspective and principles. I believe that one aspect of design can never be the whole solution, only a part of a much larger challenge.
After my 7 years of design consulting, I’ve explored many worlds of design. I’ve helped clients design everything from surgical robotic systems, immersive bay windows, the future of luggage for Gen Z, and even premium lube packaging. All of this has trained me well to be a creative thinker, sounding board, devil's advocate, and once a year, design dodgeball coordinator.
After 5 years of creating a brand in the cannabis space with fellow IDEO members, we were able to take a small, self-funded business to a strong brand that generates over $2 million in annual revenue. This has trained me well to be a business leader, brand advocate, and admired manager.
After my 2 years of in-house designing, I’ve designed and launched a massive amount of premium products, working with designers, engineers, and manufacturers from around the world. This has trained me well to be a design leader, mentor, and team builder.
In my career, I have always been curious to learn and try and do. Because of that, I learned to blend my industrial design discipline with skills from design research, interaction design, graphic design, and systems design to craft strategic, conceptual, and multi-disciplinary design work. I learned to reach far beyond my craft in areas of brand, marketing, operations, and business management which have given me greater insight into the business needs outside of one or two departments.
I learned to develop high-quality, realistic product designs and strategies that allow products to be produced rapidly and on pace with aggressive product launch schedules, all while introducing design thinking initiatives wherever possible to boost brand standing in the long term.
I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Industrial Design from the California College of the Arts. I have also taught at my alma mater as an Adjunct Professor.
