As an Air-Ramp supervisor for UPS, my responsibilities included overseeing my area of the operation and all contracted employees involved to make sure the aircraft was loaded according to the proper safety guidelines of UPS and the FAA.
- I was responsible for conducting audits to ensure that all paperwork, equipment, and training records were up to date, as well as training incoming employees on proper operation and safety procedures.
- It was my responsibility to communicate with other supervisors and managers the time frames of the operation and the current status of the given situation.
- It was my job also to oversee the loading of UPS trailers and make sure they were loaded correctly and safely, promptly. I also helped my fellow supervisors and employees with any necessary tasks.
- I was also responsible for staffing the package center based on the predicted volume, as well as communicating the volume to other centers.
- I am very good with computers; I use them daily to check training, find proper paperwork, and communicate with other UPS facilities.
- I am a trained designated responder for hazardous and Non-hazardous materials. I am trained in the process of cleaning up and disposing of any hazardous materials processed through the gateway, as well as the communication/paperwork procedures that may follow.
