Greetings! I have been in the field of Sign Language Interpreting for over 8 years. I have experience with community interpreting as well as educational interpreting.
I have passion and respect for the interpreting profession. I have found community, and educational interpreting challenging, rewarding, and inspiring!
I enjoy working in an educational environment as it keeps me on my toes transitioning from one age group to another. I also like doing research for a variety of assignments, as it is needed in community interpreting.
I am attentive to the needs of both the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, and the hearing community. I work well with others, and independently. I am flexible, motivated, and excited to work with you!
I have worked in the educational field as well as community interpreting for 8 years. I have worked in Michigan, North Carolin, and I am currently In Missouri. I have experience with grades pre-k, k-12, and post secondary environment. Through community interpreting I have been fortunate to have had a variety of assignments ranging from religious platforms to Job interviews and everything in between. I look forward to new, and challenging assignments!
I have my associates degree in Sign Language Interpreting. I graduated from Colorado Springs Community College. The program I attended had a variety of skills classes including cued speech, oral transliteration, SEE 1, and transliteration. My internship involved platform interpreting, post secondary, theater, music and much more. I feel the diversity of my educational experience prepared me for the many challenges that I may encounter as a professional interpreter.
