I'm a researcher, performer, and teacher interested in the ways musical art can move us and teach us about interconnectedness. I've taught at the college level for more than a decade and especially love working across multiple disciplines with newcomers and experts alike. My research focuses on music in cinematic moments that toy with physics (such as sublime encounters, magic-making, or dance).
As a clarinetist, I'm drawn to the works of new composers exploring collaborative mediums. When I'm not in the classroom, office, or on-stage, I enjoy adventuring in the great outdoors.
I have designed and taught college music courses at three universities, both in-person and online. I have experience working with college students in all stages of their degree programs and especially enjoy working with students individually to help them achieve their goals.
