I am a first-year PharmD candidate at Howard University in Washington D.C. with the goals of pursuing a career in industrial and compounding pharmacy with a concentration in oncology or nephrology, becoming more immersed in worlds of Spanish and Portuguese, and becoming more immersed with the business world.
I have done research in two different labs so far. My first research experience was in a chemical biology lab where I conducted research on if a protein’s (Galectin-3) cell surface interactions were glycan-mediated during its role in placental and fetal development. My second research experience was in an organic chemistry lab where I utilized visible-light photoredox catalysis to enable Csp3-H functionalization with nucleophilic N-benzylic heterocycles to help pharmaceutical chemists develop more complex drug compounds.
I have completed three years of undergraduate education with a concentration in chemistry, but I am now a 2026 candidate for my Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
