I am a Bay Area native with an Art History major with a minor in Business, I am passionate about people’s interaction with cultural institutions and encouraging people’s participation in these experiences. I have gained a good grasp of art and its role in society through my studies, and I have also learned project coordination and audience outreach from my business courses. My hobby is sketching, which increases my interest in artistic activities and I am always happy to back projects that seek to engage more people, especially from underrepresented groups, in art and history.
In my role as a Style Advisor at Aritzia I offered one on one styling advice, for an enhanced shopping experience for each client according to their tastes and requirements. I developed good interpersonal communication skills by interacting with customers and identifying their style objectives and providing fashion guidance. Further, I helped achieve sales goals by establishing good client relationships and for a smooth in-store experience.
I was able to demonstrate my capacity to work in a retail environment with a fast pace and a high level of multi tasking ability while at the same time having a good eye for aesthetics and customer service relations during my tenure in this position.
I am studying towards a degree in Art History and am also pursuing a minor in Business, which has given me a good grounding in visual culture as well as historical analysis and strategic thinking. I have gained a better appreciation of the place of art in society through my studies and I have also gained knowledge in key business areas such as marketing, fundraising and organizational management. This makes me well positioned to contribute to museum engagement and development with a creative and strategic mindset.
