Hi, I'm Clarissa I am currently attending Cal State University Fullerton for a Psychology BA. Mental health has always been a focus of mine including my own experiences, it's something incredibly important to take care of and assisting others along their journey is a passion of mine. Behavioral health and therapy is something I stumbled upon in my career and has lead me down the path I'm on today.
My positions working with adolescents and transitional age youth has been such a rewarding experience that continues to be a driving force. I intend to continue my education and knowledge to further serve our current and future community.
I have extensive experience providing individualized therapy and mentorship, working with diverse populations to promote growth and development. In my role as a therapist, I deliver tailored, play-based interventions for children and adolescents (ages 2–18) with autism and related behavioral challenges, adapting to dynamic environments and collaborating closely with families to enhance outcomes. My responsibilities include data collection and analysis to monitor progress, implementing evidence-based strategies, developing treatment plans, and adjusting approaches based on ongoing assessments.
Additionally, I have facilitated group mentoring sessions, designed and executed life-skills workshops, conducted outreach to underserved communities, delivered presentations to increase mental health awareness, and applied crisis intervention techniques to de-escalate high-risk situations effectively.
As a proud California State University, Fullerton Psychology alum, I bring a solid academic foundation to my professional practice. I hold certifications in CPR/AED and First Aid through the National Health & Safety Association, as well as in Mandated Reporting through the Child Abuse Mandated Reporter Training program. My professional development includes specialized training in De-escalating Potentially Violent Situations and Improving Cultural Competency for Behavioral Health Professionals, equipping me with essential skills to handle crises effectively and provide culturally responsive care.
