I am a diabetes advocate and Dartmouth student from East Tennessee. Growing up on a small family farm, I learned the importance of hard work and initiative when solving problems. Just before entering high school, I was diagnosed with type-1 diabetes, a disease that would spark my interest in pursuing healthcare and how it relates to public policy.
When I am home in Tennessee, I can be found volunteering at the local Children’s Hospital and helping at my family’s farm. At Dartmouth, I want to major in Biology and minor in Public Policy. I am also a founder and co-president of the Dartmouth Diabetes Link, the operations chair of Dartmouth’s Parliamentary Debate team, and a Great Issues Scholar.
