Court Reporter - Freelance - Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex

The Court Reporter is responsible for making and maintaining a record of proceedings in the Courtroom. Duties include utilizes stenotype machine to take verbatim testimony and record proceedings of court trials and hearings. Prepares accurate transcripts of these proceedings while meeting jurisdictional standards of format, accuracy, and timeliness.
Proofreads, corrects, certifies and files transcripts. Types letters, forms, motions, and other documents, accesses and updates the Court's case management system and other records as needed. Indexes, catalogues, and controls case records and stenographic notes.
Retains/disposes exhibits admitted during trials in accordance with local rules and policies and procedures.
