Dacy Peine

My name is Dacy Peine. I am 21 years old. I am a student at Missouri Southern State University majoring in nursing! I currently work in the Emergency Department at Mercy Joplin. I have worked there for about a year and a half!

I really enjoy my job because I get to talk to and meet so many new people everyday. I also enjoy the extremely fast paced work environment and having to constantly be thinking on my feet. I am very passionate about emergency medicine and cannot wait to graduate nursing school!

Due to my work load at school, I am looking to go part time at the hospital and get a second job that does not require the twelve hour shifts. I am looking for a job that also has a fast paced work environment and a place that I get to talk to new people - those are the areas I excel in!!

I have had multiple job over the years. My first job was working at my local vet clinic while in high school. I really enjoyed the pets and their owners! I learned so much in the two years that I was there and I really miss it at times.

My second job was working as a CNA at a nursing home that was also in my hometown! That is when I learned I eventually wanted to become a nurse, and the amount of passion I had for making others feel good on their worst days. My third job was a barista at Tropical Smoothie during my freshman year of college!

It was an absolute blast once I memorized all of the recipes. There I learned that I thrive in a fast paced environment and I even learned to love the customer rushes. I worked there for about a year! My fourth job was at the Webb City Walmart where I worked in online grocery.

I really enjoyed working with a team to fulfill about 200 orders per shift. I then decided that I needed to start gaining experience for my future of becoming a nurse, so I began working in the Emergency Department at Mercy Joplin! I am a nursing assistant there and have been for almost a year and a half.

I graduated from Columbus Unified High School in Columbus, Kansas in 2020. I am currently a full-time student at Missouri Southern State University majoring in nursing.
