Currently, a recent graduate from Baruch College with a degree in Psychology, looking to gain real-life experience in data science. My experience from my classes has taught me the basics of handling data in a different context. Right now, I am working on certifications through Datacamp and will pursue a part-time Data Analytics Apprenticeship through COOP Careers in the fall as well as a Master's in Information Systems with a focus on Data Analytics.
Throughout my professional experiences, I have learned all kinds of transferable skills that have led me to become a well-rounded individual in data analytics. Through my 4 years of teaching experiences I’ve learned to become a leader and become adaptable. When working in customer facing roles for the past 5 years, I’ve learned how to work with clients and handle feedback accordingly.
In my administrative work, I’ve learned to be organized and learn quickly to work efficiently. In my sales roles, I’ve learned how to communicate with clients which will hell when I work collaboratively with others.
My most relevant education in psychology has taught me to be analytical is several different contexts. I’ve learned to look at the big picture in order to draw conclusions in both quantitative and qualitative situations. I’ve taken Social Statistics and Research Methods where I worked with SPSS and Excel sheets.
I am also currently about to complete certifications in introductions to Python and SQL through Dataquest. I will be taking part in a Data Analytics Apprenticeship beginning in August where I will be formally learning Tableau, SQL, Python, Excel through COOP Careers and work with companies such as Horizon Media on data analysis projects.
