Danielle Chaisson

Throughout my high school and collegiate career, I have learned the writing techniques and motivational tricks necessary to hone my literary skills, been able to experiment with and become practiced at a variety of video games, and pursued my passions in my professional and personal life. I am looking forward to the opportunity to discover how my skill sets can be applied in this position.

In 2021 I took on a summer internship at MXDWN.com as a Video Game News Writer, which not only showed me that journalistic video game writing is my passion, but taught me how to work on a schedule, conduct thorough research in regard to new game trends, and introduced me to the wide range of games and production companies that exist. This internship in video game news writing expanded upon my writing skills while also teaching me how to manage my publication schedule and how to work in the journalism industry.

I furthered my creative pursuits by founding and serving as President of my high school’s Creative Writing Club as well as developing an after school creative writing workshop for young writers in my community. My experience as Vice President and Lead Trial Attorney on my high school’s Mock Trial team taught me journalistic and analytic writing skills and leadership qualities that have carried over into my work life since. My work as a private tutor enabled me to become a more involved mentor and encouraged me to learn more about formal English compositional skills, such as formatting and literary reviews. In Fall of 2023, I graduated with an English degree from Sacramento State.
