I have a passion for language. I particularly enjoy exploring the ways in which multilingualism leads to meaning making and creativity. Aside from my research, I enjoy playing basketball (I have extensive experience as a youth basketball coach) and jamming out on my ukulele.
My name is Danny Golde. I grew up in Berkeley CA, where I was first introduced to classical languages in High School. I studied Latin in High School and then went on to major in Greek and Latin at UCLA. My research centers on ancient bilingualism with a special focus on how Hebrew and Aramaic texts employ Greek and Latin loanwords. I have extensive training in Greek, Latin, Hebrew, and Aramaic. I have taught Latin in high school and taught Greek at the university level
I have a BA in Greek and Latin from UCLA (magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa). I then earned a Post-Baccalaureate in Classics from UCLA. I am currently 4 years into my PhD in Ancient Jewish Studies at the Jewish Theological Seminary. I was a fellow at the Drisha Institute where I studied rabbinic texts composed in Hebrew and Aramaic. I was also a visiting research fellow at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem where I studied rabbinic and Jewish Greek texts.
