I have been working in the rental equipment industry over 25 years now. I started like most do on the wash rack. I have gained experiance from being employed by different rental company’s. Working the wash rack, to working in the Yard then graduating to the shop were i started inspecting, servicing, diagnosing and repairing company or customer owned equipment.
The equipment ranged from. Small excavators to large excavators - John Deere, CASE, SANY, TAKEUCHI, KOMATSU and other manufacturers. Skid Steers of all makes and models - Bobcat, Wacker, Takeuchi etc..Bull Dozers up to 650’s - John Deere, Komatsu etc.
Back Hoes from 310, 410 and 710 - The same with John Deere Skip loaders - Inspecting, Diagnosing and repairing. Replacing cutting edges when needed using small tools and cutting torches. Inspecting, Diagnosing and repairing Aerial equipment from Genie and JLG 135’ Booms to Electric Man lifts.
Inspecting and Repairing Rough Terrain Scissor Lifts down to 19 foot Scissors lifts and smaller. Inspecting, servicing and repairing JCB, SKYJACK, MANITOU and other makes and models of Telehandlers, whether on site or in the field when needed. I have worked closely with Company team members and Management to identify thru written, verbal or thru schematics, parts and components needed to facilitate the repair of equipment to make sure equipment is safe and functioning correctly when delivered to our customers.
Working closely with ordering and inventory Personel to make them aware of and what part or component to correctly order when identified. I’ve used company owned computers or lap tops with brand specific Diagnosing software to force REGENS or to identify and repair various DTC’s or malfunctions and issues that a piece of equipment may be having, whether in the shop or in the field. Working with closely with yard Personel and helping with any issue they may be having with the equipment (Dead battery’s, hydraulic leaks) when being staged for delivery.
Working with yard or shop team members on hydraulic issues that may come up when attaching, plugging in, Fitting mismatch and / or leaking etc.) all attachments from large to small breakers, grapple buckets, swing carriages, asphalt grinders etc. installing the correct buckets on specific equipment that the customer needs for rental. Sometimes working under 911 Conditions to get the equipment on the truck to get to the customer in a safe and timely manner.
Ive been in the heavy equipment rental industry for roughly 20 years. Ive worked on and maintained construction equipment from large Excavators, 710, 410 JD back hoes and skip loaders, skid steers to 19’ scissor lifts and 135’ booms and most everything in between. From servicing equipment to component replacements.
Inspecting the equipment for damage to repairing the damage. Identifying components thru schematics, working closely with Managment and parts inventory Personel for replacement parts needed for repair or replacement. Maintaining the equipment at a functioning and safe level for customers to rent.
I’ve been a field service tech for about 10 years and I’ve worked in the shop a number of years maintaining company owned equipment. Ive been to a number of classes on the function and repair of various makes and models of construction equipment.
High school. Various certificates from instructional classes on different equipment from SANY excavators, MAGNI Telehandlers, JCB Telehandlers, skytrak, skyjack, JLG, Genie, etc.
