• Disassembly, testing, and reassembly of ruggedized mission computers, switches, routers, cables, and Fischer- and MIL-DTL based-connectors, cable assemblies & wiring harnesses; Products included integrated x86 CPU modules, COMEX / Cisco carrier boards integrated with other custom-built circuit boards.
• Supported the engineering and development of enclosures / chassis that were qualified for various MIL-STD-704, 461, 810, and DO specifications, which were designed to support features such as PCIe, I2C, I2S, USB, HDMI, DP / mDP, SATA, NVMe, SEDs (Cigent), various serial connections, and 1-10GB Ethernet modules.
• Provision of Information systems & network administration support for on-site and remote workers when needing and/or requesting access to DevOps data center resources, and in resolving connectivity issues via MS Teams, MS Teams Planner, and Jira ticketing services.
• Evaluation of operating systems, hardware, software, and access control-related applications for use in PacStar single and/or multi-module deployments requested by sales, professional services, multiple engineering departments, and potential clients/customers.

Systems Engineering Technician - PacStar Communications - Tigard, OR

Responsible for the maintenance and configuration PacStar's 2 million dollar, 250+ unit pool of demo gear per ticket and/or request, consisting of small form factor, Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) modules, including 200- & 400-series switches, routers, servers, High-capacity data storage, and AI GPU modules for potential clients/customers/vendors and vendor-specified applications.

• Resolution and documentation of Jira tickets relating to the testing of current and new hardware / software configurations for potential customers / vendors / suppliers.
• Provided support for the production department during busy periods in the assembly of mission servers, switches, routers, cables, and Fischer-based wiring harnesses.
• Upgraded vendor firmware and evaluated release candidates for new modules from suppliers including SeaLevel / VersaLogic / HydroH20 IPMI / BMC, and TOCNET-based tactical unified communications platforms.
• Performed final functional checks + documentation on all production-assembled modules and those disassembled / reassembled for engineering testing, Return Merchandise Authorization / repairs, or requested by internal engineering departments.
• Preparation, racking, stacking, and pre configuration of servers and/or switches for remote access by network administrators for configuration and validation activities – this typically involves IPMI / BMC / remote IP-NIC functionality.
• Configured servers, routers, and switch IP addresses + running configuration(s) / default access credentials using standard procedures and approved configs assigned by network engineering & corporate information technology departments.

Inspection of incoming parts / materials used in the assembly of WARN company products using reference prints, various gauges, measuring devices and inspection tools, within an ISO 9001-Compliant Manufacturing Environment.

• Accurate entry of inspection-related data into Oracle JDE ERP, daily/part history spreadsheets, and receiver/IMRB documentation.
