I have always been passionate about helping people for as long as I can remember. I was a cub scout leader for 6 years and ran a girl scout troop for 5 years. Once my children got older I went to school to become an NCMA so I could help people.
The specialty I work for is internal medicine so our focus is adult medicine. I also work as a sitter at Corona Reginal Medical Center. There I get to help patients to feel better and just give them a chance to have someone hear their struggles and give them hope that things will get better.
I am BLS Certified as well as I have non violent intervention training.
I have been working at Chaparral Medical Group for one year and 5 months. I work in Internal Medicine. I am a back office MA. I room patients, do vital signs, set up for and assist with procedures, draw up and give vaccines as well as injections for pain relief.
I enter all information into the EHR, submit prescriptions for refills, get authorization for new medications, help with EDD paperwork, log vaccines into the CAIRS website, inventory all supplies and vaccines monthly, and perform CLIA waived tests. I also work at Corona Regional Medical Center as a patient sitter for the past 5 months. As a patient sitter my job is to sit with high risk patients and make sure they don't harm themselves or others and report any concerns to the RN in charge.
