We were tasked with restoring the ecological balance of the Sanctuary located some feet away from church. We helped take samples (audio samples too, not all were physical) of some of the insects and animals in the area designated as a green space. We also worked to remove and mitigate invasive species growth in the forest so that the native plants would have a chance to earn that "shine" so to speak.
We also learned how various plants interact when faced with destructive forces such as trampling or just wildlife consuming them. I also introduced a musical element of sampling the surrounding atmosphere to put into a song. Just to show that anything can be music.
Whether that be the blissful silence of rustling leaves in the wind or the obnoxious and slightly overbearing sound of a bus exhaust.
