GIS Developer — Capstone Project (APNEP) - NC State University / Albemarle-Pamlico National Estuary Partnership - Raleigh, NC
(2025-01)
- Designed and built a full enterprise GIS system for APNEP, including migration of 20+ spatial datasets into a centralized ArcGIS Server-hosted geodatabase with proper schema organization, naming conventions, and service publication workflows.
- Developed a custom Python/ArcPy geoprocessing tool — packaged as a custom ArcGIS Pro toolbox and deployed as a web service on ArcGIS Server — that accepts a user-defined area of interest, masks selected raster datasets and generates formatted multi-page PDF reports with maps and summary statistics for grant applications and stakeholder use.
- Built an ArcGIS Online web application enabling APNEP staff to explore conservation layers (WSI, CRPA, Opportunity Areas), define AOIs by drawing or uploading shapefiles, and invoke the geoprocessing service to download site-specific reports without desktop GIS software.
- Coordinated directly with APNEP stakeholders through all project phases to validate deliverables against Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) disadvantaged community targeting requirements.
Research Assistant - NC State University — Dr. Erin Seekamp Lab - Raleigh, NC
(2024-01)
- Designed and deployed a Qualtrics survey across seven NC coastal communities (300+ respondents) to measure place attachment and community resilience, including a custom embedded circles drag widget for psychological embeddedness; revealed that social bonds and landscape dependency most strongly predict place attachment.
- Conducted multivariate statistical analyses (CFA/EFA, linear regression, t-tests, chi-square, cluster analysis) in R, Stata, SPSS, and AMOS, synthesized findings into reports informing an NPS internal memo and coastal community workshops.
- Led PGIS community mapping workshops that informed storm surge modeling and survey design for NSF & NIST-funded coastal adaptation research across the Southern NC Outer Banks.
- Presented research at the National Environmental Recreation and Research Symposium; co-led cross-disciplinary teams of 3–10 members including community stakeholders.
Research Assistant — NPS Cultural Resource Project - NC State University - Raleigh, NC
(2024-05 - 2025-08)
- Served as quality control lead testing a cultural resource management framework in a closed NPS system; reformatted key Excel data sheets and corrected report structure to meet NPS documentation standards.
PRCR GIS Intern - Town of Cary - Cary, NC
(2023-08 - 2023-12)
- Published ArcGIS StoryMap trail guides for public-facing park navigation; mapped trail systems and produced LiDAR-derived point cloud visualizations of a nature preserve.
- Supported environmental education programming and daily operations across multiple park facilities.
