Durgadevi Hariharan

Regarding myself, P.Durgadevi, working as a Post-Doctoral Research Associate in the Division of Infectious Diseases and International Medicine, University of Minnesota. The research is focused on HIV and SARS pseudovirus propagation using transfection, cultivating replication-competent HIV for adaptation assay with neutralizing antibodies, and Antiviral activity for HIV and SARS against compounds and experienced in working in BSL-2 and BSL-2+ facility.

I have a broad background in infectious disease, especially virological and immunological techniques, including ELISA and Flow cytometry, cell culture techniques, and molecular techniques, including next-generation sequencing techniques. I had experience in the cultivation of the live virus, including HIV, HSV-1 and 2, Dengue, Mumps, Rubella, Adeno, and VZV for regular stock maintenance and antiviral studies. I completed my doctoral research entitled “Studies on viral Immunology and control of HIV Infections and evaluation of anti-HIV properties of Camellia sinensis (Green Tea)” in addition, I was actively involved in various multi-centric projects funded by, MoES (Ministry of Earth Sciences) and ICMR(Indian Council of Medical Research) at the Department of Microbiology, University of Madras, Chennai.

Highly motivated and innovative Microbiologist with 10 years of research experience in the field of specialization in Virology, Immunology, molecular biology, and Tissue culture techniques starting from my doctoral studies.
