My name is Dr. Dwight Thompson. I am originally from Waukegan/ North Chicago,

Illinois in Lake County. I graduated from Carmel Catholic High School (formerly known as Carmel High School for Boys) in Mundelein, Illinois, in 1988. After graduating from high school, I attended Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia, where I earned my

Bachelor’s of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Science with a concentration in

Biology. Upon obtaining my undergraduate degree, I went on to Howard University

College of Dentistry in Washington, DC, and received my Doctor of Dental Surgery.

After finishing dental school, I received post-graduate training from Jesse Brown VA

Medical Center (West Side VA Medical Center) in a General Practice Residency program, which focused on Oral Surgery, General Dentistry, Emergency Room Care,

Internal Medicine, Anesthesia, Operating Room and Hospital Protocols and Care. I also had the opportunity to train at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine in New

York, NY, where I received certification in Advanced Education in General Dentistry.

After receiving extensive training in the various disciplines of dentistry, I stayed on at

Columbia University as a clinical instructor for the AEGD program and went on to become the dental director of the Thelma Adair Medical/Dental Center in the historic borough of Harlem, NY. I have also worked in private practices in East Orange, NJ,

Chicago and the Southwest Suburbs of Illinois. I have worked for Aspen Dental for going on five years. I have been a practice owner partner for the last year. I’ve been married to my lovely wife,

Antonia Christian-Thompson, PT, MS, PhD for twenty-two years. We have three beautiful children. Our fraternal twins, Jaxson and Ona (11), and our youngest son, Rohan (9).
