Dr.
Najera is a fellowship-trained neurosurgeon specializing in endovascular neurosurgery and endoscopic and open skull base surgery. He is devoted to using minimally invasive techniques to restore the harmony and beauty of the brain. He has substantial experience treating patients with both rare and common pathologies using open and endovascular approaches. Dr. Najera is currently an Endovascular Neurosurgery Fellow at Albany Medical Center in New York.
Dr. Najera completed a neurosurgery residency at Donostia University Hospital in Spain, where he worked for three years as an attending neurosurgeon focused on cranial base surgery and neuro-oncology. In 2017, he completed a research fellowship in microneurosurgical and endoscopic anatomy at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine under Dr.
Fernandez-Miranda. During this fellowship, Dr. Najera’s research focused on improving the understanding of neuroanatomy in order to advance surgical techniques and facilitate access to complex lesions while minimizing patient impact.
Following the fellowship, Dr. Najera continued his clinical training in skull base and complex microsurgery at Cleveland Clinic in Florida before moving to Albany Medical Center.
Dr. Najera is ready for an opportunity that will enable him to focus on neuroendovascular surgeries or a combination of neuroendovascular and skull base surgeries. His even-tempered personality allows him to forge relationships quickly, and he hopes to join an institution that embraces teamwork and a compassionate approach to patient care.
