Elika Burton

Hi,

My name is Elika Burton. I am an illustrator and fine artist based in New Jersey. I received my BFA in Illustration from Pratt Institute in 2022. I love to create work digitally, using the Adobe Creative Cloud programs, and traditionally, using mediums such as paint (acrylic, oil, watercolor), colored pencil, and pen and ink. I am largely inspired by nature. I like to find visual similarities between people and the natural world and incorporate them into my artwork.

From 2015 to 2017, I was a teaching assistant at the Montclair Art Museum in New Jersey. I worked with students to create paintings, drawings, collages, and sculptures, designed ads for the end-of-summer art shows, and assisted teachers with classroom set up and clean up. Since 2017, I have participated in arts and crafts fairs throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

As a vendor, I sold paintings, graphic t-shirts, and handmade jewelry. Since 2022, I have helped New York artist Pasha Setrova create her hyper realistic ball-jointed dolls: I paint the face makeup, veins, body blush, body hair, freckles, bruises, tattoos, and nails. I laminate the faces and add eyelashes, facial piercings and gems. I also shoot videos for her social media.

I also create commissioned portraits of people and their pets in various mediums.
