Emily Holmberg

My name is Emily Holmberg, and I am currently a transfer student from Utah Tech. Growing up, my family and I spent a lot of time in hospitals because my mom was struggling with liver failure. Many of my childhood memories include sitting in hospital rooms, waiting for updates, and watching doctors and nurses work to care for her.

During that time, I experienced healthcare from the patient and family perspective, which gave me a unique understanding of how stressful and emotional those moments can be. Those experiences are a big part of what inspired me to pursue a path in healthcare. I want to be able to provide the same comfort, support, and care that my family received during such an important time in our lives.

My goal is to help patients and their families feel heard, supported, and cared for, just like the healthcare workers did for us.
