Emily Johnson

Current nursing student at the University of Illinois at Chicago with a heart for healing. Growing up as a foster child on the South Side of Chicago, with frequent hospital stays myself, I experienced firsthand the disparities in healthcare, but also the profound impact of compassionate care. My support system of family, friends, and nurses has inspired me to provide that same level of attentive and empathetic care to others in all aspects of my life.

My previous experience as a dedicated Youth Instructor in underserved communities required such abilities and also taught me the importance of amplifying individuals' voices and shared resilience. In my free time, I focus on maintaining a healthy mind and body through a mix of relaxing and active hobbies, including jewelry-making, painting, gardening, and competitive volleyball.
