Several skills that I have learned as a Correctional Officer. I have acquired the skill to effectively & respectfully communicate with a diverse population. Whether that be my co-workers, the population I oversee, stockholders, outside agencies, and the public.

What did I do every day as a senior claims' specialist? I built relationships with homeowners. I fulfilled warranty claims. Alleviated homeowner stress. Provided detailed updates to homeowners regarding claim status making outgoing calls.
Accepted escalated calls from the call center, reviewing the claim, and troubleshooting any issues I discover. Often developing staff skills in the call center to help them troubleshoot providing customers with superior service. This position taught me what it really means to be self-motivated to manage my own day to day within my area.
I learned everything about a house & difference of a home warranty versus home insurance. I began cultivating an empathic nature that I was later able to apply as a Correctional Officer. I further developed my skills of reading policies, understanding, comprehending & explaining them.
Account Lead at TruAssets, LLC (2014-07 – 2016-02)
As an Account Lead, I acquired the knowledge and experience to make me successful at 2-10 HBW. I learned the terminology & the regional market cost (of that time) to create bids to build a house from the foundation to the ridge caps. I learned how to inspire service providers and education verbally without being able to show them.
I learned that the best way to inspire them is to build a trusting relationship. Additionally, how to effectively communicate with the banks & mortgage companies. This was my first taste of reading policies, understanding, comprehending & explaining them to my peers and service providers.
