Emily Swanson

I will be receiving my bachelor’s degree with a double major in Communications and Sports Media Communications in May 2022. I am currently doing an internship with the Media Relations Department in the Athletic Department at the University of Rhode Island. Focusing on live stats, filming, photography, and writing game recaps.

Sports has always been my passion. I am very knowledgeable of all sports statistics, basketball, baseball, football and more recently have been focusing on Women’s NCAA sports. I also have experience in the restaurant industry working at Subway as a sandwich artist, working the cash register and focusing on positive customer relations.

I am eager to take on any task assigned. My goal is to obtain employment within the sports industry, working with Live Stats, both independently and with other sports enthusiasts where I can develop and display my abilities and passion.

I have worked in a newsroom during an internship with the Warwick Beacon. I have also worked in the sports industry, working at Army West Point in their Athletic Department as an Assistant Director of Athletic Communications, and I completed an internship in 2021-2022 in the Athletic Department at the University of Rhode Island.

I have earned a Bachelor's of Arts degree in Communications and Sports Media Communication from the University of Rhode Island, graduating in 2022. I have also earned an Associate of Arts Degree from the Community College of Rhode Island, graduating in 2019.
