Emma Burgess

As a graphic designer, I have studied other artists’ work and their purpose behind making art. When researching I became inspired by Stefan Sagmeister’s graphic design work which has driven me to focus on minimalism. I focus on how to make a design minimalistic because it is very important for my designs I create digitally.

I want my purpose and ideas to be clear. If my designs are cluttered with many details, colors, or features it will be harder for the viewer to focus on what the design means.

I have worked on different software such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Canva, and Microsoft. I have over eight years of experience with Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft. I have about one year of experience with Canva.

I had to take an internship class where I got a job in digital archiving for the Dominican sisters located on Siena heights campus. The internship turned remote which I have been doing since last June. I have to do a lot of research and collect a lot of different articles for the internship.

I also got a job that is remote with Bowe Digital I'm a graphic design intern there where I create social media posts for 10 different clients that I was assigned to. I have to base each post on the target audience color scheme that they client has. also incorporating their logo and focus on if they want more simplistic fonts or more decorative fonts.

I graduated Siena heights university with a BFA in Graphic Design.
