I have been a nurse for over a decade now. I have worked in multiple settings since then. I love that diversity in the nursing field. Recently, I obtained my ANCC certification as a PMHNP. I’ve always been drawn to the idea of becoming a psychiatric nurse practitioner because it allows me to combine my compassion for people with my fascination for how the mind works.
I want to be someone who can sit with patients in their most difficult moments, offer real support, and help them feel understood rather than judged. The autonomy of the role appeals to me too—I like the idea of assessing, diagnosing, and creating treatment plans that genuinely improve someone’s quality of life. Most of all, I’m motivated by the chance to make a meaningful impact, reduce stigma around mental health, and help people build healthier, more hopeful futures.
I have experience in medical-surgical, behavioral, pediatrics, and rehabilitation nursing.
I recently obtained my master's degree in nursing, specializing in advanced psychiatric nursing.
