I am a lifelong learner and advocate of using economics to benefit people and their community. I currently focus on economic development consulting to help communities develop a sustainable strategy to give their residents more choice and opportunities.
I am currently the Senior Director at Better City, where I have been leading strategic economic development projects since 2016. My role involves facilitating the creation and implementation of impactful initiatives in municipalities and regions across multiple states, including Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, and Virginia. I have successfully coordinated diverse stakeholders and secured over $4 million in federal grants for various clients. Some of my key projects include developing a 10-year Economic Development Strategy for Layton, UT, and leading the team to draft a 5-year Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy for the Wasatch Front Regional Council.
In addition to my work on large-scale development strategies, I have conducted specialized studies, such as a policing capacity study for Moab, UT. My strengths lie in research, grant writing, public speaking, and data analysis, with proficiency in tools like Microsoft Office, PowerBI, and GIS software. I have extensive experience working with government data sets from agencies like the U.S. Census Bureau and the Federal Reserve, which has allowed me to deliver data-driven insights to my clients.
I hold a Master of Science in Economics from Purdue University’s Daniel’s School of Business, where I graduated with honors and was inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma honor society. During my time at Purdue, I also served as a Student Ambassador for the Daniels Online Program.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in International Business Economics and a Bachelor of Arts in English Language & Literature from Weber State University. I graduated with distinction, receiving multiple honors, including Outstanding Student of Economics, Outstanding Student in English, and being named the Goddard School of Business’ Outstanding Baccalaureate. Additionally, I was selected as the Class of 2018 General Commencement Speaker.
