I made the transition from decade-long career as a Certified BMW Technician to a Remote Auto Technician. I leveraged my ASE Certification and specialized BMW technical training at UTI to transfer from the high-pressure and flat-rate world without the physical toll of the shop floor. I felt it put me ahead of the game trading the air tools and high-tech computers to diagnostics intuition.

While it has proven to be a positive change, I find myself prioritizing my health and pursuit of a life-long career. I hope you will allow me an interview to further discuss my job opportunities with you.

Reason for leaving = lack of career growth.

• Multipoint servicing, fault finding / diagnostics, general repairs, warranty and recall work and aftermarket electronics fitment (e.g. satellite Navigation units/beacons)
• Main focus on new vehicles where a Level 3 accredited knowledge is essential
• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership
• Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed
• Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
• Bumper to bumper means that everything that is part of the drive-train including engine, transmission, electrical, airbag system, and suspension
• Understand and operate Bay Support System (BSS) computer equipment, including the hand held terminal and BSS screen to quickly and accurately process Customer services while following Company procedures, such as torque quality control checks
• Perform maintenance issues such as changing oil and oil filters, replacing or rotating tires, balancing tires, repairing flats, and testing and installing batteries while verifying and communicating vehicle information to other technician

My services include hard skills carried over from my experience with a dealership like diagnostics, engine repairs, and routine maintenance, such as oil changes either roadside or my garage. I find I wear many hats.

• Work alone and have mastered complex, varied repairs without support while focusing on doing the job right the first time to reduce comeback repairs
• Possess strong communication and listening skills to explain estimates, scheduling, inventory, while maintaining service and safety guidelines, much like a Service Writer/Advisor
• Have free-range dexterity and motion in my hands and arms and legs that allow me to work with small parts and small spaces
• Manage my garage like my work station to increase repair workflow and my productivity. Keep an organized and clean garage
• Oversee the financial aspects such as explaining cost of parts and my labor. Maintain records of all work done, much like a Service Manager
• Locate part to control my costs, explaining the entire repair, much like a Service Writer
