As a therapist of 29 years I am amazed by how technology has lead our industry to provide reach more people and to break down barriers that once created so many challenges to obtaining mental health services.
As a clinician I am passionate about health and wellness, seeing the client as a whole being and recognizing the collective parts of a person's make up create a unique appreciation for each and every individual.
I have a few niche areas that set me apart from others, in that I am tackling areas that are not routinely treated.
I have had the opportunity to work in many diverse areas in my 29 year career. I have maintained a private practice since 1999 and strive to meet the needs of clients in some niche areas. I have also held positions at agencies and hospitals. I am blessed to be able to now reach more clients with more ease. Teletherapy is innovative and I appreciate the format. I am skilled in providing dedicated services in live video, telephone, chats and asynchronous formats.
As stipulated by my licensing requirements I participate in ongoing continuing education training. I appreciate the topics that relate to my niche areas, but also topics that allow me to deliver services continuously as treatment continues to evolve. I have participated in trainings regarding perinatal mental health, suicide prevention, Employee Assistance related issues, assisting military members and their families.
I am currently writing a work book for my bariatric patients to use in sessions. I maintain a social media presence and am always reading and learning about ethics, business operations, and current topics presented in the format.
