In addition to being a school counselor, I also volunteer as a mentor for middle and high female students within the school district.. Through social engagement and interactive field trips, positive experiences and relationships become everlasting. During this time I have coordinated individual and group counseling sessions while incorporating ASCA Behavior and Mindsets standards.
To increase student engagement, I help students find strategies that will keep them on task to complete assignments and actively participate in their self-development. My passion focuses on strengthening achievement and closing opportunity gaps for all types of learners.Working in the educational field for over 12 years has taught me to be patient, non-judgmental, and empathetic with students and their guardians regarding daily challenges. I look forward to helping students, staff, and families grow together with my professional dedication to see that everyone involved succeeds with equitable resources that extend beyond the classroom.
