As an aspiring first-generation Latino electrical engineer, I’m passionate about advancing in controls and embedded systems to make a lasting impact in the engineering field. Currently in my third year at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, I’m on track to become the first engineer in my family and am dedicated to inspiring young Latinos by showing what’s possible through hard work and vision. My journey at UWM has been enriched by meaningful connections within organizations like the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) and the IEEE, where I continue to learn and grow.
Through my courses, I have developed foundational skills in digital logic, low voltage circuits, and C programming, which I look forward to applying in hands-on projects and future industry challenges.
In the professional field I have experience as an assistant for a master electrician working on HVAC and home/commercial electrical systems.
Responsibilities included traveling with Master Electrician to work locations, developing solutions with electrician for all electrical and HVAC jobs with appropriate materials and best attributes fitted to individual client, planning all necessary materials/tools are in hand prior to arrival of site, and maintaining the organization and efficient system of work truck by using different organizers, shelves and boxes guaranteeing nothing will fall and or come apart while driving.
Currently a third year at UW Milwaukee with experience in classes teaching C programming, circuits and digital logic.
