Ethan Bird

In my life I have been exposed to many different environments. I grew up helping my father on the farm, feeding cows, changing pipe, driving tractors, and basic farm work. From a young age I became invested in sports, in high school I participated in football, basketball, and track.

I was elected one of two football captains my senior year of high school and won multiple state titles in track that year as well. In high school I also participated in choir, band, and musical theater. I ran and was elected to be the Student Body Vice President where I learned and refined social and planning skills.

After I graduated in 2021, I volunteered to serve a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. This took place in the Vancouver Washington area. During this time, I spent all day everyday talking to people and teaching them about Jesus Christ.

I would talk to strangers every day without hesitation. During these two years I had the opportunity to serve in leadership positions for 16 months. Upon return I worked construction until I began my schooling in January of 2024.

I am seeking to gain a degree in Secondary Math Education
