As a physician assistant, I am part of a healthcare team, where I am responsible for patients assessment, diagnosis, and treatment in conjunction with a doctor and other health providers. From creating medical guidance and treatment strategies to undertaking physical examinations, each task I perform necessitates the provision of patient-centric care.

What resonates most with me is that aside from clinical care, I can directly interact with patients as well as with the medical team. From writing post-treatment instructions after clinical consultations to breaking down medical jargon for patient consumption and collaborating with other disciplines, I take immense pride in being a part of the medical team and in making sure that the system works for the patients.

• Urology:

• Psychiatry:

 *Performed first-time psychiatric assessments, gathering full patient backgrounds and checking for mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, and substance abuse problems. 

*Helped manage patients in hospital psychiatric units, adding to treatment strategies and keeping an eye on how well medications worked. 

*Took part in therapy sessions watching and gaining insights from seasoned psychiatrists as they carried out therapeutic methods. 

*Collaborated with patients and their loved ones to offer support, teach coping techniques, and boost mental health awareness. 

*Helped create and look over psychiatric evaluations, making sure patient progress was recorded. 

• General Surgery: 

*Helped care for patients before and after various surgeries such as appendix removal, gallbladder removal, and hernia fixes. 

*Watched and aided surgeons in the operating room, getting practical experience with surgical methods and tools. 

*Gave patients instructions on how to take care of themselves after surgery, including how to care for wounds and what signs of problems to look out for. 

handled patient check-ins, doing first checks and getting patients ready for surgery, making sure their medical histories and allergies were correct. 

*Backed up the surgery team in dealing with both emergency and planned cases.
