Led engineers while doing hands-on work across the Node.js API, patient and clinician web apps, CMS, and infra. Reviewed designs, owned vendor integrations, and shipped across multiple concurrent projects.
- Built multi-tenant Stripe Connect billing for memberships and subscriptions. Shipped guest checkout and account claim without creating fake patients, multiple saved payment methods, and kept discount and schedule edge cases correct through a Stripe API upgrade.
- Improved API access control for patient and clinical data with organization isolation and restricted clinician roles. Consolidated prescription APIs and added ingest for medications prescribed outside the platform.
- Delivered labs ordering, results, and notifications. Integrated pharmacy and e-prescribe vendors through catalog cutovers and subscription transfers when fulfillment partners changed.
- Hardened the backend with automated unit and integration tests, coverage, and parallel CI. Retired unused legacy endpoints and added analytics and conversion tracking with careful PII handling.
- Shipped coaching consultation purchase and post-purchase flows, intake APIs, and messaging improvements.
- Built CMS content tooling and a small internal AI assistant for support and coaches grounded in real patient context.
SOFTWARE ENGINEERING MANAGER / SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER at OOMA (2016-06 – 2022-10)
- Architected a replacement for Ooma's legacy authentication system. Replaced the old auth stack with a new suite of microservices, including an OAuth2-based solution and a custom RBAC system used across products.
- Implemented new webhook/event systems using Kafka that decreased processing time and improved event delivery across Ooma's home security system.
- Led a core team of onshore and offshore developers implementing an Identity and Access Management platform, and delivered a management dashboard on a compressed timeline for Ooma's POTS replacement product.
- Played a central role coordinating the company move to Kubernetes-based deployment and CI/CD pipelines; worked closely with the Ops team on transitioning internal teams onto the new system.
- Implemented the role-based access control system for features on Ooma's Home Security product.
- Rewrote scheduled mode-switch logic, including SQL query optimization; reduced execution time by ~25 seconds and decreased memory pressure on the server.
- As a manager, led a team of 5 onshore and offshore developers. As an engineer, led multiple summer intern projects with one other engineer.
