I am a design engineer that worked at General Motors for 6 years ( 2yr Contract, 4yrs Salary). I am focused on advancing my career in product design by building a reputation in performance and in my communication skills. I would like to learn the different disciplines throughout the industry to gain greater experience in my career.

Direct Hire Employee Accessories and Advanced Design - General Motors

(2021-12)

I worked in Accessories and Advanced Design on Hood System Inherit Criteria, Hood Release Cables, Splash Guards, Illuminated Harnesses, Under Seat Cargo Bins, Fog Lamps, Hood Spoilers/Hood Splitters, and Electrical Adapters. During my time working for General motors I have gained valuable understanding of the product development phases, work order process, Design for manufacturing, and General Motors Best Practices.

• Obtained DFFS Black Certification From General Motors. My Project Was Creating A PTS file that automated checks for Gap, Flush, and Hood swings.
• Worked and managed over a hundred work orders and met timing expectations.
• Obtained DFFS Green Belt Certification From General Motors. My Project was conducting a timing analysis with over 30 people to see what is the most efficient modeling method with a goal in reducing turn over time for product creation.
• Extensive Knowledge in NX PTS files and templates.
• Built and Managed The Global Accessories Design Sharepoint where the team was able to access best practices, criteria, and upload documents for other SMT's to view.
• Managed and Created the Accessories Teams internal sharepoint website which included coding items into the site my team members needed

Contingent Employee Front and Rear Closures - General Motors (Reliance One)

I worked in the Front-End Closures group developing new designs for current programs. Components include the hood hinge reinforcement, palm print, striker reinforcement, as well as wire harnessing integration. I have worked numerous work orders for the Accessories group from hoods to Liftgate Components, Step Assist Packages, and hinge mechanics.

Intern (Liaison for Engineering Manager) - Silver Basis Engineering (Mold Builders)

Update power points and excel documents for engineering changes and timing Charts for program managers. My other roles were to download part CAD data from customers and place it on the company's server. Responsible for the company's website and making sure the content stays current.

Developed experience in seeing the implementation of design molds to develop parts in the manufacturing sector with using computer support of NX Unigraphics and Catia files. This was also a great opportunity for me to learn the roles and responsibilities on working with our offshore counter parts from China

Special Needs Therapy Facility - Developing Connections

Worked on design implementations on new therapeutic applications for clients (full time in summers, part time during fall and spring semesters during semester breaks). Gained Design and knowledge in implementing/creating designs that corresponded to the current clientele. All designs and built equipment were tailored by studying the logistics of customers using the facility for services. Created the company website and still maintain the website as well as any database adjustments needed
