Engineering Intern (Aerothermal Flight) at Test Resource Management Center, 715th Test Squadron, Arnold AFB (2026-06 – Present)
- Built a new, variable-fidelity CFD workflow for the squadron by bridging a fast, lower-fidelity solver with a high-order CFD solver, creating a modeling capability that did not previously exist at the base.
- Used the workflow to estimate heat-flux and surface pressure on hypersonic test articles, giving engineers an early read on test article performance before committing to full-scale CFD.
- Documented the workflow in a guidebook covering best practices and lessons learned, enabling the capability to be adopted squadron-wide beyond the internship.
- Used Pointwise to generate structured surface, internal volume and external volume meshes on hypersonic test articles for workflow development; wrote Python scripts to automate CFD post-processing and file conversions.
- Reviewed cold-flow sensor data in the control room to help validate go/no-go criteria ahead of arc-jet test runs, then cross-checked post-test outputs against test-plan predictions alongside test engineers, as part of broader test and evaluation (T&E) support for hypersonic test articles.
- Briefed project results and methodology to squadron engineers and separately to base leadership including Pentagon officials.
Propulsion/Aerodynamics Team Member at Hoo's Flying (2024-09 – Present)
- Assisted the aerodynamics and fuselage teams with wing and fuselage design for a battery-powered model aircraft in SolidWorks, leveraging CFD and FEA to confirm design and material choices and validate flight conditions; the team's aircraft placed 8th in the U.S. and 13th overall at SAE Aero Design East.
- Collaborated with the fuselage team on materials testing for the fuselage and wings to inform design decisions.
- Tested and optimized propeller configurations using eCalc to identify the best thrust-to-weight setup within the competition's fixed power allotment, collaborating with the propulsion team to inform final propulsion system selection.
Teaching Assistant, Applied Partial Differential Equations at UVA Applied Mathematics Department (2025-01 – Present)
- Served as TA for Applied Partial Differential Equations, the most advanced required math course for engineering majors (~150-200 students), covering Fourier series, Laplace's equation, eigenfunction expansion, Bessel functions and higher-order PDEs.
- Created exam review problem sets that broke down some of the course's hardest material into step-by-step walkthroughs, working through them with students one-on-one and in small groups during weekly office hours that consistently drew around 30 students per semester.
- Graded and provided constructive feedback on student coursework and assisted the professor by supporting in-class instruction throughout the semester.
Rush Chair (2yr) | Secretary & Executive Board Member (1yr) at Theta Chi Fraternity (2024-01 – 2026-05)
- Elected for two consecutive years as Rush Chair, leading recruitment efforts that produced the two largest pledge classes in recent chapter history.
- Managed a $30,000 recruitment budget and planned a two-week formal recruitment calendar, coordinating event logistics with outside businesses.
- Built a custom recruitment website to run voting, track rushee attendance and serve as the point of contact between rushees and the chapter, replacing a fully manual process; also built a reusable budget-tracking spreadsheet still in use by the chapter.
- Elected to serve as one of five Executive Board members, taking chapter meeting minutes and helping guide weekly strategic decisions that improved event quality, increased philanthropy involvement and reduced chapter spending without cutting events.
