George Truszkowski-Young

I am amongst a rare group of young photographers to harness manual techniques on analog cameras and I rely strictly on film-stock.

The core of my work is spontaneously crafted street photography - though I adore capturing most, if not, every subject that catches my eye; taking after my idol, Nobuyoshi Araki.

With that, I always take as long as I need before pulling the trigger; I find there to be a lot of power in that - and in that brief pause behind the viewfinder, is where I craft my art.

My choice of film, lens, shutter speed and aperture alter not only the exposure, but also the perception of reality. The image in my lens becomes my reality, if only for that brief second, documented for eternity.

I've spent much of my career assisting at editing houses in both NYC and LA; I now work remotely in my own personal space in Oregon.
